Internships at CFC: A Cross-Discipline Learning Experience
We really do have the greatest interns! Motivated, crazy smart, professional, and eager to learn everything they possibly can, our interns are as impressive as they come. Want to see for yourself? Intern Melissa Browne recently created a five-minute video telling the story of her CFC internship.
While at CFC, Melissa interned first with our Preconstruction group, and later with the team at one of our multifamily projects, Airie at Tava Waters. She explains how, during her time as a Precon intern, she was directly involved with the estimating process, bid packages, presentations, subcontractor communications, and many other aspects of the preconstruction process. She then details her experience working out in the field with the Airie team, where she gained more hands-on experience in the areas of issue identification, RFI writing, and safety. Melissa particularly enjoyed the opportunity to accompany CFC Safety Director Shawn Burke on his safety walks. She appreciates how Shawn focuses not only on identifying potential hazards, but also on recognizing what teams are doing right.
During her CFC internship, Melissa was able to gain wide-ranging knowledge and project management experience covering many different aspects of construction. But you don’t need to take our word for it: Check out her video, and let Melissa tell you herself!
We loved having Melissa on the CFC team and expect truly great things from her in the future. And while she’s certain to find success in construction, we’d venture to say that she could probably make a side career out of video production!
We love our interns! Learn more about what it’s like to work at CFC. If you feel like you might be a fit at CFC, we encourage you to apply via our Careers page. We’re always looking for great people who’ll help us to build an even stronger future for CFC.
