Tamara Bujakowski

VP of Project Development
Tamara Bujakowski

Tamara is a proven leader with more than 20 years of experience in the construction sector. She is passionate about building relationships that create opportunities for shared success. As part of CFC’s leadership team, Tamara supports key company initiatives, works closely with operations leadership on strategic planning, and plays a central role in supporting CFC’s execution to meet its sales goals across core markets. She is a member of Housing Colorado, NAIOP Colorado, the Downtown Denver Partnership, AIA Colorado, and the Urban Land Institute.

Tamara’s clients and colleagues appreciate the positivity, enthusiasm, and drive she brings to her work. She absolutely loves what she does, and it shows. She is an adept team-builder who is committed to ensuring the success of those around her. To that end, she focuses on building deep, authentic relationships and helping younger colleagues to fully understand and explore their career paths and opportunities.

Professional and Educational Background

Tamara’s construction career has been a natural evolution from her initial interest in architecture and design: She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree (with honors) majoring in both Interior Design and Business. But Tamara quickly honed in on how much she enjoys the relationship-building aspects of the industry, ultimately leading to her focus on business development. Prior to joining CFC, Tamara spent the first two decades of her career serving in Director of Business Development or VP roles at a range of industry-leading general contracting and architectural design firms. Over this time, she gained experience serving national and international clients across a variety of product types, including multifamily, commercial, hospitality, health care, and senior housing. She has also been integral in supporting companies’ community giving and engagement efforts. But Tamara’s true passion lies in creating the built environment; to that end, Tamara joined CFC in early 2023 to support the company’s growth following its late 2022 acquisition by Big-D Companies. She is particularly excited about how CFC is evolving in new directions while simultaneously returning to its mountain roots, diversifying how it serves Colorado’s mountain communities.

What Tamara Values Most About Working at CFC

Tamara has a deep appreciation for the incredible team she works with at CFC, which she describes as a “dream team” that is genuinely invested in building a culture based in happiness, focused on quality, and united in pursuing a common vision. She also greatly values the increased access to shared resources now that CFC is part of the Big-D Family of Companies. CFC is still able to operate as a nimble, locally managed organization while also drawing on specialized expertise from across the larger enterprise, which enables CFC’s seamless expansion into a wider range of product types.

Beyond Building

North Carolina native Tamara initially stayed in the Tar Heel State to attend college and be closer to family. Since moving to Colorado in 1999, however, Tamara frequently returns to North Carolina for two reasons: (1) spending time with her mom, “a great human being who makes me a better person,” and (2) her love for the state’s stunning coastline and beaches. But Tamara is thrilled to call Colorado home, especially now that the two-and-a-half years she spent remodeling her home are over. In her free time, you’re likely to find Tamara cooking, entertaining, enjoying all the Colorado mountains have to offer, or spending quality time with her two amazing pups, Myrtle the basset hound and Wilma the English bulldog. She also volunteers for The Greenway Foundation and Life is Better Rescue.
