Duke LaFore

Duke LaFore’s 30+ years of work experience include a strong focus on multifamily construction and diverse experience across building types, including mixed-use, senior housing, municipal, hotels, and historic renovations. In everything he does, he brings the benefit of deep operational knowledge and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety. He is a strong communicator who excels in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Hard-working, resourceful, and a highly capable problem solver, Duke has never been afraid of taking on more work or responsibility. Though he’s always willing to share credit for success, he’s a natural leader, mentor, and innovator. Duke joined CFC in 2013.

Professional and Educational Background

Duke’s construction career has always been characterized by hard work and rapid ascents. He began his career as a laborer in the custom cabinet and woodworking shop of a Denver-based general contractor. Soon enough, he progressed to Cabinet Maker, then Carpenter, then Carpenter Foreman, then Purchasing Agent and Safety Manager, and finally Estimator and Superintendent, all with the same company — and all within 8 years’ time. Over the next 15 years, Duke quickly rose through the ranks at a few of the most respected general contracting firms along Colorado’s Front Range. As he gained experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent, he established himself as a leader in process improvement, safety, risk management, and quality control.

Duke has completed studies in scheduling, estimating, blueprint reading, OSHA 500 “Train the Trainer,” and other topics at Metropolitan State College of Denver, Red Rocks Community College, and Arapahoe Community College. He has also held a Secret Clearance issued by the Federal Department of State by the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO).

What Duke Values Most About Working at CFC

Duke appreciates the opportunity for flexibility and growth he experiences at CFC. After starting as a Project Manager, he was promoted to Senior PM and ultimately Construction Manager — all within six years. While that expedited timeline hasn’t always been easy, he’s found the support he needed to succeed at every stage.

Beyond Building

Colorado native Duke grew up right in Denver. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, road biking, mountain biking, trail running, and spending time with family and friends. Duke also greatly enjoys the time he devotes to CFC’s charitable efforts, including running the Colfax Marathon to combat neurofibromatosis, a form of cancer specific to children.
